Trip Highlights

(8-16-07) The New Zealand trip is winding down and the team has safely reached their final stop of Queenstown. Today they are touring the Lord of the Rings filming sites so we should have lots of pictures to share upon their return on Sunday. The weather has been unusually cool (high 20's, low 30's) and it has rained a couple of times during the trip. Everyone is making use of their winter gear.

(Taupo) Black Water rafting through the glow worm caves was a big hit even though the water was very cold. The tour company provided wet suits and inner tubes for the experience. Three of the boys (Max, Stephen and Miles) and Coach Sean got a taste of bungy jumping in Taupo. More plan on jumping in Queenstown on the 18th (17th for us!).In Rotorua, the team was treated to a local amateur team's rugby match. They were cheering on the team from Bay of Plenty. They also had some relaxing time in the mineral pools in Rotorua. They went to the Agrodome and participated in swooping, jetboat ride and the fan favorite, zorbing.

(8-9-07) Team arrived safely in Rotorua and had a great run this morning! In Auckland, our 16 boys were hosted by some wonderful families who arranged a BBQ on their last night together. While in Rotorua they will be in the heart of the geothermal wonderland and will have several opportunities to experience the Maori culture first hand. We will post any pictures received during the trip. They are set to move on to the city of Taupo on the 13th.

PAST SUMMER TRIPS

In 2006, the team traveled to Big Bear (pictures below). Past trips have been to the Green Mountains of Vermont (2005), Hawaii (1998 & 2002), Vancouver (2000), and New Zealand (1994 & 1996).

In 2005, the team departed for Burlington, Vermont on 8/4 and visited Vermont, Montreal, Lake Placid and Boston returning home on 8/12.
